A love of fine cigars. A belief in good conversation. And a historic Main Street building waiting for its next chapter. Foothills Cigar Company began where those three things met.

Where it began
More than a
cigar shop.
There is something timeless about a good cigar. Not just the craftsmanship or the ritual, but what happens when you slow down long enough to enjoy one. Conversations last a little longer. Strangers become familiar faces. An ordinary evening becomes time well spent.
That appreciation grew into a bigger idea: what if Rutherfordton had a place built around it? Somewhere to discover a great cigar, find quality pipe tobacco, settle into a comfortable chair, and enjoy the company of others. Learn more about our planned cigar selection and pipe tobacco offerings.
There wasn't anything quite like the place we had in mind nearby. Rather than wait for someone else to create it, we decided to build it here.
A building with a past
The right idea
found the right place.
At 204 N. Main Street, we found more than an address. We found a building whose character couldn't be replicated in a new commercial space.
Its story stretches back to an old alleyway, later enclosed and put to work. Through the years, the space has been associated with a barbershop, a bank, a jewelry store, and Matt Daigel's Club Car. Each chapter left a little history behind.
The narrow footprint, aged brick, and unmistakable Main Street setting aren't obstacles to disguise. They're part of what makes this place special.
What we're creating
Old-fashioned character.
A new place to belong.
Our vision brings three connected experiences under one roof: a traditional tobacconist for premium cigars and pipe tobacco, a welcoming bar, and a dedicated downstairs lounge. Different spaces, united by an appreciation for craftsmanship, hospitality, and time well spent.

We aren't trying to create something flashy or fleeting. We want Foothills to feel like it has always belonged on Main Street—a place where the surroundings are warm, the welcome is genuine, and there's no reason to rush. We're looking forward to sharing it with you.
